Our Initiatives
Who We Are
We are a grassroots coalition dedicated to ensuring Marin's Jewish families, students, and residents can thrive openly, safely, and proudly unhindered by antisemitism.
More Than Just a Chat Group
CHAI Marin (Community Heritage Action Initiative) was formed in response to the rising tide of antisemitism following October 7, 2023. Our name invokes the Hebrew word "chai" (meaning "life"), symbolizing our dedication to sustaining Jewish life and safety in our county.
We are a volunteer-powered alliance of parents, students, educators, and community members committed to creating a Marin where everyone feels valued, experiences true belonging, and Jewish identity is celebrated.
Experienced or Witnessed K-12 Antisemitism?
Don't stay silent. Report it and get support.
CHAI Marin encourages parents, students, and school staff to report all K-12 antisemitism incidents to ActNowK12.org, a trusted reporting platform established by grassroots parents and the ADL.
Why Report
• Get Support: Receive immediate guidance from local experts.
• Advocate: Reporting advocates for ALL Jewish students and helps prevent escalation.
• Confidentiality: Your information is kept confidential.
ActNowK12 is exclusive to K-12 school incidents.
What We Do
1
Advocacy
We stand with Marin’s Jewish K–12 students, educators, and community members—working together so everyone can thrive and feel a deep sense of belonging. We push for zero tolerance for antisemitism across our county and for Jewish community members to receive the same care, protection, and response as all other communities when incidents occur.
2
Education
We equip our community with practical resources, expert guidance, and timely updates so that every resident is informed, prepared, and empowered to help build a safe, thriving environment. By sharing knowledge and fostering awareness, we ensure that our neighbors have the tools they need to stand strong and support a vibrant Jewish life in Marin.
3
Connection
CHAI Marin brings together members of the Jewish community and our neighbors across Marin County, building connections, fostering friendships, and celebrating Jewish life and traditions. By uniting, we strengthen our collective voice, deepen mutual understanding, and create a supportive network that ensures our values and heritage thrive for generations to come.
